Looking For An Adventure?

In April 2015, I will be escorting a group of people on one of 18ThirtyFours; North Eastern Indian Tea Tours. The tour will commence on Tuesday 14th April and will return on Monday 27th April.
During our trip we will be visiting an array of tea related establishments, from the chai waller’s and tea shops of Kolkata, to Makaibari’s tea factory near Kurseong in Darjeeling; a visit to the tea brokers and gardens of Assam and the unique tea research facility at Tocklai. A real tea experience, but there’s no point in travelling all that way to India; and not experiencing more than just tea. So, with the 18ThirtyFour tour we try to give you the opportunity to experience this wonderfully diverse, colourful, and certainly never boring country.
We will take you riding on elephants in Kaziranga National Park, visit Mother Teresa’s house in Kolkata and take trip around this bustling city. Accommodation on many trips can be quite similar and slightly boring, but not on this tour. We will stay at a variety of different styles of accommodation from the New Elgin heritage hotel in Darjeeling, to Diphlu Village Lodge at Kaziranga to tea bungalow’s in upper Assam. Ride on the world famous Toy Train in Darjeeling, which will take us to the Buddhist Monastry of Yiga-Cholang. Take a country boat trip on the mighty Brahmaputra River, and if we’re lucky; we might even see the freshwater dolphins; that live in it. And how could one visit Kolkata without finding out more about the “Black Hole of Calcutta”? If you enjoy your food, this tour will allow you to taste a wide selection of vegetarian and meat traditional dishes from Northern India. These are just a few of the exciting experiences; in store for those who become a part of our group.
The tour will be escorted by myself, with the addition of local guides allowing us to gain from their local knowledge and experience. There are free days where you have the opportunity to explore, and in the evening chat about your experiences. The vast array of cultural, religious, food, and (of course) tea experiences that this tour offers; is unique, and the added comfort of being in a group of other tea-loving travelers; makes this trip a must.
